MERS/GOODWILL INTRODUCES VOLUNTEER PROGRAM FOR RETIRED SENIORS
As today’s largest and most influential population, The Baby Boomer Generation, transitions from the workforce to retirement, many will pursue new options, aiming to redefine how they spend their time. To meet this need, MERS/Goodwill is announcing a new program designed for retired people who would like to give back to the community. The program, located at the Lippman Center, 2545 S. Hanley Road, will assist seniors in exploring the types of volunteer opportunities available. They will assess skills and interests and help identify and in some cases place seniors at the most rewarding venues in which to utilize each person’s individual talents.
For further information, call Johni Siegel at 314-647-5533, ext. 115.
ATTENTION CUSTOMERS:
At Goodwill, your child’s safety is important to us. There have been many toy recalls recently and our Managers and Processors are watchful for any of these items that may be donated. While we are doing our best, it is impossible to find them all. We need your help. Please report any toy that you believe may have been recalled to the Store Manager so that it can be removed from the sales floor.
All recalls can be found at: http://www.cpsc.gov

On top of tuition costs, parents and students must also think about the price of furnishing the dorm room or apartment. Goodwill offers an excellent source for home goods at lower prices than traditional department stores.

Vintage Fashions Lure Shoppers and Charities Alike
~ The New York Times
JENNIFER SCHNEIDER, a lawyer in Washington, flies to Seattle each November to celebrate her birthday with a shopping spree. She and her sister stake out turf on the sidewalk at 5 a.m. and rev up on coffee and doughnuts as they strategize, making sure their cellphones work so they can alert each other to bargains once they are in the store. But they are not waiting for first dibs on designer creations; they are there for the clothing at the Seattle Goodwill Thrift Shop’s one-day Glitter Sale. More Here...
