CARF

MERS/Goodwill is committed to providing services of high quality, which produce positive outcomes for its consumers and other stakeholders. One way of demonstrating this commitment is by subscribing to best practices and industry standards in order to maintain accreditation.

MERS/Goodwill has selected CARF, an international leader in the field of standards for employment and community services as its accrediting body. CARF began service in the field of rehabilitation in 1966 as the result of efforts by several national organizations, including Goodwill Industries International and International Association of Jewish Vocational Services.

MERS/Goodwill is proud to have been one of the first organizations accredited by the group and has maintained its accreditation since late 1969.

Some of the key issues addressed by the standards include, but are not limited to, health and safety, fiduciary responsibility, organizational integrity, customer focus and program outcomes. All staff assigned to employment and community services are trained in the CARF requirements and quality reviews are conducted on an on-going routine basis to ensure continuous quality improvement. Our current accreditation for specific service areas is valid through the end of 2016 at which time we will undergo an extensive external review by CARF surveyors who are experts in the field and working within organizations similar to ours throughout the nation and Canada. Check out the CARF certificate, which is posted in all office locations.
