Central Administration:

Accounts Payable Accountant

  • Location: St. Louis city, Aftergut Center
  • Duties include: Responsible for cash disbursement and file maintenance for the Accounting Department; assists with compilation and maintenance of supporting documents for accounts payable; handles various office duties as assigned and ensures that all agency policies and procedures are followed.
    • Invoice preparation and processing, including document maintenance and monthly account reconciliation.
    • Responds to financial transaction inquiries for the agency’s internal and external customers.
    • Makes recommendations regarding accounting of transactions and related procedures.
    • Input vendor invoices in accounting software within 2 business days of a completed vendor packet (invoice, purchase order, package slips).
    • Performs bi-weekly aging analysis with distribution to CFO.
    • General ledger maintenance and provides assistance with monthly end closing.
    • Other duties assigned.
  • Qualifications: Minimum of a BS/BA Degree in Accounting or strongly related field with 7 years directly related work experience in accounts payable.

Grants Accounting Manager

  • Location: St. Louis city, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Responsible for the oversight and management of the Grant Department, including recording and invoicing grant contracts, monthly grant reconciliation to the general ledger, primary liaison between agency and grant provider, monitor review contract, prepare annual budget and assist CFO in the annual Single Audit – A 133. Ensures all agency policies and procedures are followed. 
    • Manage, coordinate and verify supporting documentation to ensure accurate and timely month end reporting. 
    • General ledger responsible for ensuring journal entries and properly supported and accurately recorded. 
    • Review monthly grant income statements for accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist with completion of annual budget and year-end audit. 
    • Assist in coordination and completion of the annual Single Audit – A 133. 
    • When applicable, communicate new grants or changes to grants to appropriate staff. This includes new department ledger numbers. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 years of public accounting auditing experience; and  CPA Certification. Requires general ledger knowledge and a strong understanding of accounting transition cycles.

  • Duties: Coordination and supervision of Productive Living Board (PLB) funded programs, including long-term retention and Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP). Supervision of staff, maintain funder requirements, carry individualized caseload; and oversee coordination of SWEP with other provider agencies.
  •  Qualifications: High school or equivalency required. BA/BS in related field preferred with 2 years’ of Social Service experience.

Employment Specialist- ASD

  • Location: St. Louis county, Lippman Center
  • Duties: Assist consumers with ASD with obtaining and maintaining employment commensurate with interests, abilities, and support needs. Provide case management, vocational support, and facilitate relationships with employers. Maintain current knowledge of job market, community employers, and an understanding of ASD.
  • Qualifications: High school or equivalency required. BA/BS in related field preferred with 2 years’ of Social Service experience. ABA training a plus.

Employment Specialist- Brain Injuries Services

  • Location: St. Louis county, Lippman Center
  • Duties: Assist consumers with brain injuries with obtaining and maintaining employment commensurate with interests, abilities, and support needs. Provide case management, vocational support, and facilitate relationships with employers. Ongoing communication with referral sources and maintenance of consumer files.
  • Qualifications: BS/BA in related field and 2 years of experience in assisting individuals with brain injuries.

Employment Coordinator 

  • Location: North County Rehab Office
  • Duties: Work with Center Director to supervise the Job Development and Placement team, also providing job development/placement services directly. Supervision includes monitoring the flow of referrals and quality of service (outcomes) provided in the programs, maintaining relationships with referral and funding sources, attending to revenue and expenses generated.
  • Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with disabilities required; experience supervising staff; BA/BS or MA/MS in Counseling or a related field preferred, can be substituted by relevant experience.

Retention Specialist

  • Location: St. Louis City, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Assist consumers with maintaining employment commensurate with their interest, abilities, and support needs. Facilitate and maintain ongoing communication with client and employer. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills requires; current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and independent transportation required
  • Qualifications: BS/BA in human services field required. Experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Employment Specialist

  • Location:  St. Louis County, Lippman Center
  • Duties:  Assist consumers with brain injuries with obtaining and maintaining employment commensurate with interests, abilities, and support needs. Provide case management, vocational support, and ongoing communication with client and employer.
  • Qualifications: BS/BA in Human Services required. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Experience working with individuals with brain injuries a must. Outstanding verbal communication skills as well as exceptional organizational skills required. Current driver’s license, auto insurance and independent transportation required.

Lead Job Coach

  • Location: St. Louis City, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Recruit youth to participate in the program, screen for eligibility. Recruit employers who are interested in having participants complete a subsidized work experience at their businesses. Provide job readiness training to participants. Case management duties to support participants in maintaining their positions. Work with community members to incorporate existing resources. Complete a long-term vocational plan at the point of program completion. Documentation associated with subsidized employment, case management, etc. Support Coordinator to manage files, payroll, and other documentation/activities. Support Coordinator to schedule and plan training, assist with employer enrollment and maintenance; and to assist part-time Job Coaches. Lead efforts to meet grant expectations/requirements for CDA and CFE.
  • Qualifications: BA/BS in Social Work/Rehabilitation Counseling related
    Youth experience strongly preferred. Current driver’s license, auto insurance and independent transportation required.

ASD Job Coach

  • Location: Metro St. Louis; St. Louis County; St. Charles, MO area; Metro East, IL area
  • Duties: Assist consumers with ASD maintaining employment in the community. Provide vocational support and facilitate/ maintain relationships with employers. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training and proficiency required. Excellent time management and written/verbal communication required. Valid driver’s license, independent transportation, and vehicle insurance required.
  • Qualification: High School degree and experience in social service required. Bachelors degree preferred. 

Job Coach

  • Location: Metro St. Louis; St. Louis County; St. Charles, MO area; Metro East, IL area; Farmington, MO
  • Duties: Assist individuals to maintain employment commensurate with their social, psychological, and medical needs and abilities; assist employers to facilitate the successful employment of people with disabilities. Job Coach will provide training and assistance to persons with disabilities to help them maintain competitive employment.
  • Qualification: High School degree and experience in social service required. Bachelor’s degree and experience in supervising people and working with people with disabilities preferred. Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance and independent transportation required.

Job Developer

  • 2 positions available, 1 part-time & 1 full-time
  • Location: SLATE Missouri Career Center 
  • Duties: Develop and maintain personal contacts with business, industry, labor and government representatives and job placement agencies through on-site visits and other communication; Make presentations on Career Center services to businesses, identify companies’ personal needs; Meet placement goals specified in grant/contract; Critique and instruct customer on job search techniques, application procedures; Inform job applicants of employment duties, responsibilities, compensation, schedules, and working conditions; Assist employers with pre-screening activities. 
  • Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience. Must posses excellent verbal and written communication skills, operation knowledge of Toolbox preferred. 

Workshop Facilitator

  • Location: SLATE Missouri Career Center
  • Duties: Plan/design new training initiatives and related materials, set training objectives; Tailor existing training information to suit target audience; Reevaluate material for ongoing effectiveness/remain current with employment trends; Continuously gather updates on existing topics; Conduct training sessions and assist participants in reaching established goals; Provide feedback to participants; Provide training packets, order needed supplies, schedule/set up/break down training room. 
  • Qualifications: Minimum of Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience.Requires thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and office equipment, knowledge of Toolbox preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required, including the ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. 

Program/Computer Lab Assistant 

  • 2 positions available 
  • Location: SLATE Missouri Career Center
  • Duties: Provide information to customers on procedures, rules and regulations pertaining to resource computer lab; Administer computer assessments for customers; Maintain computer hardware and software applications inventory for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and/or instructional materials; Assist customer in resource lab with use of computer equipment and resource materials; Assist customers with resume and job search letter preparation and revision. 
  • Qualifications: Minimum of Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred. Requires thorough knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word Suite and assessment software.  Strong verbal and written communication skills required, including the ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. 

Workforce Development Services

Home Visitor- MWA 

  • Location: Moberly, MO & surrounding areas. 
  • Duties: Travel to clients home, interview client and provide information about MWA program.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency required, BS/BA preferred. Must have reliable transportation, current Driver’s license and car insurance.

Home Visitor- MWA – Temporary Position 

  • Positions available for the Arnold, Camden, Laclede, Rolla, St. Charles, Warrenton & Washington, MO areas. 
  • Location: Camden, MO; Laclede, MO & surrounding areas
  • Duties: Will visit homes of low income families receiving public assistance. Will accompany another worker to the homes. Mileage reimbursement at $0.42 per mile from office in Warrenton. 
  • Position requires full background check and drug screening.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency required, BS/BA preferred or 1 year social services experience. Must have reliable transportation, current Driver’s license and car insurance.

Case Manager – MWA 

  • 3 positions available for the Arnold, Moberly and Warrenton, MO areas. 
  • Duties: Interviewing clients, preparing clients for employment, helping clients overcome barriers and provide information about the MWA program.
  • Qualifications:  High School or equivalency required. BA/BS in related field preferred. 

Youth Case Manager  – Illinois WIA 

  • Location: 2 positions available for Alton & Carlyle, IL
  • Duties: Recruit and monitor out of school students ages 16-21; provide eligibility assessments and administer appropriate tests; provide 1-1 study  assistance, information and referral assistance; help with college enrollment and FAFSA; assist with job placement; maintain accurate documentation and case notes, provide job skills training; and complete monthly follow up.  
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency required. BA/BS in related field with experience working in Social Services preferred. Experience working with youth preferred.

Case Manager- Illinois WIA Youth Program

  • Location: Washington County, IL
  • Duties: Assist individuals to pursue and achieve educational and employment goals. Maintain working knowledge of community resources, document all activities in state system, and problem solve with participants to resolve barriers to employment.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency required. BA/BS in related field with experience working in Social Services preferred.

Evaluation Case Manager

  • Location: Alton/Belleville, IL
  • Duties: Supervise clients within structured work site; observe workplace behaviors, skills, presentation and abilities; complete hand-written as well as typed notes regarding each client’s demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks; conduct psychometric testing to gauge possible career interests; maintain regular communication with referral source.

Lead Teacher

  • Location: St. Louis city, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Create lesson plans, complete meal count, attendance records; engage in children’s play and communicate appropriately with parents. Create positive and inviting environment for children and assist with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
  • Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with a High School degree or equivalency. 2 years experience working as a supervised Teacher in a Daycare or School setting required.

Assistant Teacher

  • Location: St. Louis city, Aftergut Center
  • Duties:  Assist lead teacher with daily activities and help create lesson plans. Create positive and inviting environment for children and assist with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
  • Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with a High School or equivalency. Experience working as a supervised Assistant Teacher in a Daycare or School setting is preferred.

Application Developer

  • Location: St. Louis City, Aftergut Center
  • Duties:
    • Maintain agency database software and ensure data integrity.
    • Participate in appropriate training to ensure software and other tools follow industry best practices.
    • Prepare program and department performance results for Retail, Employment & Training, and Central Administration for senior staff, grant proposals, external agencies, and auditors.
    • Collect stakeholder feedback to be distributed in a timely manner.
    • Train staff on agency computer programs and applicable reporting policies and billing procedures.
    • Develop and maintain working knowledge of CARF and other governing body standards and ensure their implementation on an ongoing basis.
    • Participate in discussion and development of practices with Area Center Directors to ensure technology is incorporated appropriately.
    • Develop knowledge of third party software used by the agency to provide support when needed.
  • Qualifications: BS in Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems. Knowledge of and experience with MS Access and VBA required. Knowledge of MS SQL, WordPress,and SharePoint preferred.

Case Manager 

  • Location: St. Louis City, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Assist adult female ex-offenders in residential setting to meet re-entry needs. Maintain working knowledge of community resources, document and verify all activities; and provide assistance in crisis situations. Maintain strong working relationship with Probation and Parole. Available for 24-hour on call assistance.
  • Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice Administration, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field required.

Security Monitor

  • Location: St. Louis City, Aftergut Center
  • Duties: Monitor residential facility to ensure security of residents. Assist residents with daily needs.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency preferred.

Substitute Teacher

  • Location: Imagination Learning Center, Downtown St. Louis
  • Program: Daycare
  • Duties: Cover call in shifts, vacation requests and sick/personal days shifts. Would be working in all ages of classrooms, as temp assistant teacher to provide safe and educational environment to children, assist lead teacher in classroom functions.
  • Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency required.

Retail Division:

Maintenance Tech

  • Location: Retail Stores in the Metro St. Louis area
  • Duties: General building maintenance, including painting, plumbing, electrical and drywall work. Assist with new store set-up.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency required. Building maintenance experience preferred.

Floor Tech

  • Location: Multiple location in MO and IL
  • Duties: Standard janitorial cleaning including floors, bathrooms and sales floor area. Must be able to clean base boards, mop, dust, use standard floor buffers and other large equipment related to floor cleaning.
  • Qualifications: High School or equivalency. Previous experience  preferred.

Truck Diver

  • Location: St. Louis Metro Area; Jefferson City, MO and Rolla, MO
  • Drivers will be home every night (excluding special trips)
  • Standard hours are between 7AM and 6PM
